Objective: This study aimed to describe the contributions of Clown Theater during hospitalization of children. Method: It was an integrative review of the literature of Medline, LILACS and BDENF the past 15 years. Results: Our research strategy met 97 scientific papers. We analyzed 15 of them that better achieved the object of this study. We identified issues related to the daily lives of “Doutores da Alegria”, effects on hospitalized children’s health and its influences in nursing care. Conclusion: Clown Theater promotes greater well-being during hospitalization, provides a humanistic care and contributes to child development.
