Disperse Anthraquinone Dyes

2009
The paper presents the synthesis of 6 disperse anthraquinone dyes using 1-amino-2-bromo-4hydroxyantraquinone. The key intermediate, 1-amino-2-bromo-4-hydroxyantraquinone is obtained by the hydrolysis of 1-amino-2,4-dibromoanthraquinone using sulfuric acid and boric acid, which is then condensed then with: phenol, o, m, p-nitrophenol, p-chlorophenol or 2-aminophenol respectively [1]. The dyes are characterized by UV-VIS and IR spectroscopy and used for dyeing polyamide fibers.
