Objective To study the expression of ultra-conserved regions uc.189 in endometrioid adenocarcinoma and its correlation with clinical parameters. Methods 65 patients with endometrioid adenocarcinoma treated at our hospital were selected. The expression levels of uc.189 in adjacent normal tissue and cervical cancer tissue were detected by real-time quantitative PCR and RNA in situ hybridization, and compared. The correlation of the expression level in cancer tissue with clinicopathological parameters and clinical prognosis was analyzed. Results The uc.189 protein was localized in the cytoplasm of the tumor cells, it was highly expressed in the tumor tissue (13.863±2.061), which was significantly higher than that in the adjacent normal tissue [(3.605±0.887), P<0.05]. The uc.189 expression level was not statistically different in the patients' age (P=0.881), tumor maximum diameter (P=0.845), and tumor local infiltration stage (P=0.061); but were in tumor pathological grade (P=0.007), lymph node metastasis (P=0.038), and TNM clinical stage (P<0.001). The clinical prognosis of the vendometrioid adenocarcinoma patients with high expression of uc.189 was significantly worse than that of the endometrial adenocarcinoma patients with low or no expression of uc.189 (P<0.01). Conclusion The ultra-conserved regions uc.189 is highly expressed in endometrioid adenocarcinoma tumor tissue; and its expression level is closely related to the patients’ clinicopathological parameters. The higher expression level of uc.189 in tumor tissue is, the worse the patients’ clinical prognosis is. Ultra-conserved regions uc.189 can be used as a prognostic indicator for endometrial adenocarcinoma patients.
