ABSTRACT: This research was carried out with the objective of identifying pedagogical strategies of the teachers of the Escuela Normal Superior de Uraba that strengthen adaptive skills in students with intellectual disabilities in times of the COVID-19 Pandemic, revealing the conception of disability and people with intellectual disabilities from a rights perspective. The qualitative methodology allows investigating and reflecting on the different pedagogical strategies used by ENSUR teachers in times of pandemic, oriented from the socio-critical paradigm that allows adopting a global, reflective and dialectical vision of the educational reality in the context of this research. This research found that the conceptions that teachers, parents and students have about disability and intellectual disability revolve around the medical model and the differential model with a clear vision of the legal approach. In the curricular aspect, the institution has the transversal project "the mirror of myself" and 3 guides of joint work of teachers, for students with disabilities during work at home that are related to some adaptive skills such as: communication, social skills, self-assessment, management, health and safety. For this reason, it is recommended that the ENSUR from the PEI, the coexistence manual and the transversal projects define strategies that strengthen adaptive skills from a rights perspective and supported by theoretical and legal frameworks that are references of the most representative study models of disability, which allows them to broaden their conception of the social rights approach and mobilize their conceptions towards other approaches such as differential or quality of life to reasonably adjust the PIARs to the educational needs of the student with disabilities and their family.
