The Schedule for the Lower Grades of the Prolonged-Day School

1961
When the prolonged-day schools were established many thought that the schedule in these schools would simply be a combination of class time with additional hours for dinner, walks, homework, and various "out-of-class undertakings." However, the matter did not turn out to be that simple. It was immediately found that the time assigned for homework was inadequate. The children also had to spend hours planned for optional activities for homework. The prolonged day was transformed into a "prolonged school day."
