Background Chemotherapy-associated hepatotoxicity is a common cause of postoperative complications after major hepatectomy. Splenomegaly may indicate portal hypertension due to chemotherapy. To identify chemotherapy-naive patients with liver damage, the splenic volume (SV) and aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio (APR) were investigated.
