The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for production of spherical semiconductor particles, the method comprising storing a semiconductor in the crucible; heating means for heating and melting the semiconductor in the crucible; crucible from a semiconductor melt dripping from the nozzle in gaseous phase; and or dripping molten semiconductor in a vapor phase by the vibration of the molten semiconducting crucible apparatus. The method and apparatus of the present invention that has melted by dropping in the crucible of the semiconductor from the nozzle and vibrating the molten semiconductor simple operation, can produce a large number of spherical semiconductor particles having uniform particle diameters. The particles thus produced can easily be converted into the vapor phase Dan Jing or polycrystalline particles.
