Ultrafast exciton spin dynamics in Cd1−xMnxTe quantum wells studied by transient pump‐probe spectroscopy

Dynamics of exciton spin systems in diluted magnetic semiconductor quantum wells of Cd0.95Mn0.05Te/Cd0.80Mg0.20Te has been studied in magnetic field by using transient pump-probe spectroscopy. The study resolves transient exciton phenomena in the time domain of subpico-second to nano-second region, and clarifies dynamics of dense electron-hole plasma created after the optical excitation, formations of excitons and excitonic magnetic polarons, and spin alignments of magnetic ions.
