Millimeter Wave Broadband Microstrip Antenna with Coaxial Feed for Phased Array Applications
2021
A broadband linearly polarized microstrip is proposed with a coaxial connector feeding. The antenna is fed by slot coupling, through the interaction between the coaxial and the dielectric plate, additional resonance points are introduced, thereby expanding the bandwidth of the antenna. In addition, the use of coaxial feed can easily form an area array and apply it to a large phased array. The simulated antenna −10 dB impedance bandwidth ranges from 24.05 - 32.35 GHz, an antenna is manufactured and tested, and has higher consistency with simulation, which can cover multiple 5G millimeter wave application frequency bands such as n257(26.5 - 29.5 GHz), n258 (24.25 - 27.5 GHz), and n261(27.5 - 28.35 GHz).
