Performanţele testelor de biologie moleculară în diagnosticul parvovirozei canine

Present paper describe the comparative performance of  PCR test in small animal diagnostic, based on previous results regarding parvovirus identification. Two such studies have been subjected to analysis and interpretation regarding diagnostic value for parvovirosis in terms of sensitivity and specificity for rapid immunochromatographic tests, along with classical virology and PCR tests. Results obtained showed superior performance for PCR for virus identification from feces, being the only test capable to identify the virus in all evolutive stages (incubation/preclinical stage, clinical stage, remision/chronic stage).
