Method and apparatus for removing fine particles

PURPOSE: To efficiently and inexpensively collect fine particles by safe low voltage and to make clogging hard to generate by arranging the air-permeable conductive substrate connected to a positive electrode on the downstream side of the conductive net connected to a negative electrode and collecting electrically neutral fine particles by the conductive substrate as charged fine particles. CONSTITUTION: The conductive net group 7 connected to the negative electrode of a DC power supply 10 is attached to a side wall through a support stand 8 composed of an electrical insulator on the upstream side of the flow of the fine particle-containing air of a dust removing apparatus 2 and constituted of three conductive nets 7 1 , 7 2 , 7 3 vertically arranged in opposed relation to the flow of air so as to provide intervals. The air permeable conductive substrate 8 connected to the positive electrode of the DC power supply 10 is vertically attached to the side wall through a support stand 9 composed of an electrical insulator on the downstream side of the net group 7 so as to be opposed to the flow of air. Electrically neutral fine particles pass through the conductive net group 7 to become charged fine particles to be collected by the conductive substrate 8. COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
