Medical student interest in internal medicine : initial report of the society of general internal medicine interest group survey on factors influencing career choice in internal medicine

1991
We surveyed a representative sample of graduating U.S. students to answer the following questions: Which factors are most influential in the decision whether or not to choose a career in internal medicine ? How do these factors differ with regard to choosing a career in general medicine compared with subspecialty medicine ? The results from this study may aid in planning interventional strategies to make a career in internal medicine more attractive to future medical students
