Metodología de reclutamiento y selección de docentes, a partir del enfoque por competencias, acordes a particularidades institucionales: el caso del Colegio Mundo Unido, Costa Rica (UWCCR).

The investigation frames the importance and need to systematize the teachers’ recruitment and selection process, especially for those institutions with particular characteristicssuch as the promotion of the competencies among their students, the internationality of them, having educational models different to the rest of the country, and others. For this, a proposal for the teachers’ competencies was made, based on a participant observation, using as an example the case of UWCCR, which was validated by two focus groups and after a survey was made to a sample of 252participants (students, alumni, teachers and directors, advisory council and board of trustees), who establish as indispensable competencies: professionalism and intellectuality, organizes learning, critical thinker and empathy and understanding of others, which in the inferential statistics which dimension had marked over 84 in general, and also had the majority of the votes from the four main groupsthat participated; and as desired: team work and inspires others, which markedin general above manages paradoxesand time management in the inferential statistics. After the levels for each one was validated and to further determine the methodology used in this process and that demonstrate the steps that other similar institutions should follow in five phases taken into account the previous steps. This also had as a result the production of a Manual that will help UWCCR and that can be a starting point tothe rest of the UWC’s and others, to do all the process, which shows an objective development of the recruitment and selection of teachers through competencies.
