An empirical approach to the problem of generating the members of the class of all right triangles whose legs differ by one unit gives rise to a sequence differing from that either of Osborne or of Kraitchik, The sequence derives from the continued fraction whose limit is 1+2 as compared with Kraitchik's 2. New sequences are possible when the legs differ by constants other than one.
