In order to characterize the calf rearing systems of dual purpose farms, identify the subsystems and analyze its relationship with reproductive development of farms, herds in the parishes Virgen de Coromoto (VC), municipality Guanare (n= 24) and Uvencio Antonio Velasquez (UAV), Sucre municipality (n = 22), Portuguesa state, pastoral areas of the Andean foothills, tropical dry forest and tropical premontane, respectively. This research was conducted as case studies and analytical approach, during August and September 2008.
