We did not suture the “window” and mesocolon in 20 children with atresia and cicatrical strictures of oesophagus undergoing eosophagoplasty after harvesting a colonic transplant and restoration of colon continuity. Comparison with the children treated by traditional surgery showed a decreased frequency of long-term complications and the absence of unwanted effects of the proposed method on the clinical course of the immediate postoperative period.
