Biomass. A growth opportunity in green energy and value-added products. V. 1. Proceedings

The fourth Biomass Conference of the Americas, held in Oakland, California on the 29th August to the 2nd of September 1999, covered a wide area of topics. The proceedings were published in two volumes and over 275 papers addressed the following technical fields: biomass production and integration with conversion technologies; biomass transformation into valued-added chemicals, liquid fuels, heat, and power; biomass and bioenergy policy - public issues and private initiatives. With increasing political and social pressures for a greener environment in the future, it is felt that biomass will have a major role to play. Therefore these proceedings should be of considerable interest to scientists, policy makers and industrialists wishing to seek and understand the opportunities available in this global growth business. 196 of the papers are abstracted here.
