Dominance of electromagnetic interactions in hadronic processes pp→pΔ and pp→ΔΔ

Abstract Because of their s and t dependence, electromagnetic interactions (one photon exchange) may dominate at high energy over strong interactions in all non-diffractive reactions without charge or hypercharge exchange. We show that this may be the case of pp→p Δ + and pp→ Δ + Δ + at soon available energies, opening therefore a new domain of experimental investigations.
