O3–105A RETROSPECTIVE STUDY OF REINTRODUCTION OF OXALIPLATIN IN PATIENTS WITH ADVANCED OR RECURRENT COLORECTAL CANCER

2013
Background: We previously retrospectively studied the effectiveness of reintroducing oxaliplatin in patients with advanced or recurrent colorectal cancer and reported the relation between response and oxaliplatin-free-interval (OFI). An interim analysis of the results of a phase II clinical trial (RE-OPEN study) evaluating the effectiveness of reintroducing oxaliplatin in patients with colorectal cancer resistant to standard therapy was recently reported. We therefore studied additional patients and reassessed our results. Methods: Among patients in whom oxaliplatin was reintroduced in the 7 participating hospitals, we studied patients who had previously received oxaliplatin and irinotecan and patients who had a response of stable disease or better during initial treatment with oxaliplatin.
