Study on Urban Traffic Control under Uncertainties of Parameters

Abstract The problem of optimal control of traffic flows in the urban road network is considered. To describe the traffic flows, a universal recurrent finite-difference model based on the theory of controlled networks is used. Using a variational genetic algorithm, the optimal admissible traffic light control program is obtained. The sensitivity of the found optimal admissible control to changes in the throughput of manoeuvres, flow distributions, the initial state of the network is experimentally investigated.
