Penerapan Universal PrecautionPada Puskesmas Perawatan Di Kabupaten Bantul

Background: The nosokomial infection is the real problem on around the world. Bantul regency is developing area which is the HIV/AIDS case increasingly. The service health workers in local government clinic often overlook the use of personal protective equipment as universal precautions. Purpose: To find out the application of universal precaution in service health centers in Bantul regency. Methodology: This was a cross sectional study used a quantitative approach. Sample technique was used stratified random sampling, a sample of 156 respondents. Result: The knowledge level of health workers about universal precaution included in high category at the rate of 137 people (87,8%). The attitude in good category at the rate of 125 people (80,1%). The application of it included in good category at the rate of 124 people (79,5%). The respondents’ characteristics do not have any relation with the application of universal precaution. There are significant relation between the knowledge level and the application of universal precaution p=0,002. The attitude is having a relation with the application of universal precaution p=0,000. Conclusion: The application of universal precaution in service health centers in Bantul regency is good. The knowledge level and the attitude had significant relation with the application of universal precaution. Keywords: The application, universal precaution, health centers
