The present invention provides a technique, when a user points to a first place in a first paragraph of a plurality of paragraphs included in an electronic document and inputs a command for inserting a memo into the first place, for separating the first paragraph into two paragraph blocks around the first place of the first paragraph based on the memo insertion command, and for generating a blank space for inserting a memo between the two paragraph blocks.
