Ampliación de la distribución de Rana dalmatina en Navarra

2019
The distribution of Rana dalmatinaBonaparte, 1840 in Navarre has increased in eight UTM10 x 10 grids, with two new possible subpopulations detected in the north (Urumea andBidasoa basins). In addition, the number of enclaves with a presence of the species inknown grids of most of the four subpopulations as described above increases significantly. The possible reasons for this increase are discussed. The main cause would relate to thecreation of new ponds for the reproduction of the species, which are being successfully colonized. Movements of this species resulting in the installation of new populations maybe a consequence of an increase in prospecting efforts in recent years. These factors, whichmay be contributing to the expansion of the territory occupied by the species, must bevalidated in the future.
