5G Narrow-Band Band-Pass Filter using Parallel Coupled Lines and L-Shaped resonator

2020
A new compact microstrip L-shaped resonator bandpass filter based on parallel-coupled lines is proposed for 28GHz, with the high performance for the fifth generation 5G. The aim of developing the geometry of the coupled lines is to obtain a narrowband and more compact size. The bandpass filter has been designed by Software CST Microwave, using Rogers4835 substrate having relative permittivity (e r ) of 3.66. The electromagnetic simulation results obtained of the compact microstrip L-shaped resonator bandpass filter has been compared with Advanced Design System ADS simulator. The bandpass filter has a bandwidth approximately from 27.5GHz to 29.4GHz, center frequency about 28GHz. Besides, it has high selectivity and a good return loss more than 20dB, with an overall size of 7×4×0.635mm3.
