Effect of biodegraded sugarcane trash on yield of and nutrient uptake by wheat crop.

2000
A study was conducted to assess the effect of biodegraded sugarcane trash on yield of and nutrient uptake by wheat crop. The shredded trash was inoculated with three mesophilic actinomycetes (Streptomyces viridosporus, Mesophile B and Mesophile C) and a thermophilic, actinomycete D singly or in combination and allowed to decompose. Application of compost produced by coinoculation of three mesophilic actinomycetes with and without 80 kg N effected a significant increase in grain yield over that with 120 kg N ha−1.
