Additional description of Middle Permian (Wordian/Capitanian) fusulines of the Akasaka Limestone (Japan)

2012
For the purpose to supplement a part of the former report of the Middle Permian (Murgabian/Capitanian) fusuline faunas in the Akasaka Limestone, Japan, four species are described based on the new material: Chusenella andersoni, Kahlerina nautiloidea, Neoschwagerina minoensis, and Verbeekina verbeeki. Among them, Chusenella andersoni is paleobiogeographically important on account of its exclusive occurrence in Capitanian seamount limestone blocks contained in the Middle Jurassic to Early Cretaceous terranes of the circum-Pacific and absence in the coeval blocks in the Permian terranes.
