In a carbon dioxide production method and hydrogen from a gas stream containing at least hydrogen, at least one sulfur-containing component and carbon dioxide from a Claus unit (C) supplied by a gas (1) containing at least 50 mol% oxygen is compressed and the gas flow is dried (9, 11) to produce a compressed gas stream and dried (15) and separating the compressed gas flow and dried at a subambient temperature to producing at least one carbon dioxide-enriched fluid (17) relative to the compressed gas stream and dried, and at least one fluid (19) enriched in hydrogen relative to the compressed and dried gas flow.
