Apparatus and method for detecting loss of mobile phone terminal

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting the loss of a mobile phone terminal are provided to detect the loss or failure of the mobile phone terminal when a traffic is sharply reduced by analyzing the traffic of a subscriber by a day unit or a week unit. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of BTSs(Base station Transceiver Subsystems) communicate with a mobile phone terminal. A call information DB(85) stores a call history and a charge institution between the mobile phone terminal and the BTSs. A call calculating unit having a day-unit call completion number calculating unit(72) and a week-unit call completion number calculating unit(74) calculates a call number of the mobile phone terminal from the call history of the call information DB(85). A judging unit having a terminal loss judging unit(76) and a terminal loss last judging unit(78) judges whether the mobile phone terminal is lost according to the call number from the call calculating unit.
