The relationship between acute rejection and infiltration of CD134~+ lymphocytes in heart allografts

2008
Objective To analyze the relationship between survival of allografts and CD134 expression of infiltrating cells. Methods A simplified heterotopic rat heart transplantation model was established, and CD45mAb(1 mg/kg) was intravenously injected or associated with donor splenocytes(1×109 cells/100 g).The transplanted heart harvested and the expression of CD134 in infiltrating cells was performed. Results In normal rat heart, few CD134+ cells could be found. The allografts in CD45mAb or associated donor splenocyte groups had significantly lower CD134+ expression than those treated with splenocytes and no therapy groups. Conclusion These findings suggest that rejection is positively correlated with CD134+ cells.
