Metal-organic frameworks as diverse chemical applications

Abstract In this chapter, we have reviewed the literature for different metal-organic framework (MOF) groups and their possible applications. The unique properties exhibited by MOFs such as their large surface area, high porosity, and their adjustable pore size enable them for diverse applications in areas such as storage of gas and its separation, drug delivery, catalytic conversion of CO2 to cyclic carbonates, medical transportation, wastewater treatment, and energy storage of energy and conversion technologies (such as fuel cells, metal–air batteries, and supercapacitors).
