Over-Voltage Protection Measures of Qiaogong Hydropower Station

According to the practical situation of Qiaogong Hydropower project, the main design problem of over-voltage protection and technical measures taken were expounded in this paper. The composite over-voltage protection device which combined with RC-absorber and the arrester had the phenomena of explosive. The causes of explosion was analyzed,and a new alternative scheme was proposed. The scheme can effectively restrict operation over-voltage, and has the function of the lightning arrester, and serves as a reference for other projects.
