Laparoscopic-assisted right hemicolectomy in grass-roots hospitals:a report of 20 cases

2015
Objective:To explore the feasibility and safety of laparoscopic-assisted right hemicolectomy for right colon cancer in grass-roots hospitals. Methods:Clinical data of 20 patients who underwent laparoscopic-assisted right hemicolectomy for right colon cancer between Mar.2011 and Mar.2014 were retrospectively analyzed, there were 13 males and 7 females, the average age was( 55 ±20) years.Dukes staging:1 case was in stage A,8 cases were in stage B,and 11 in stage C.Results:Twenty operations were successful, the average operation time was( 150 ± 50) min, intraoperative blood loss was( 200 ± 100) ml,the average postoperative intestinal peristalsis recovery time were( 48 ± 12) h and hospital stay was( 10 ± 2) d.2 patients suffered from pulmonary infection without complications such as postoperative bleeding, infection of incision, intestinal fistula or deaths. All patients were followed up for( 6 ± 3) months,no complications were found. Conclusions:On the premise of familiar anatomy, fine operation and close cooperation,laparoscopic-assisted right hemicolectomy can be safe, feasible, minimally invasive in grass-roots hospitals.Laparoscopic operation has advantages of favorable visual field, clear exploration under direct view, easy identification of anatomy structure and rapid recovery
