Effect of Cu substitution on the structural and magnetic properties of DyCo5-xCux

2006
We present here the results on the effect of Cu substitution in DyCo 5-x Cu x (x = 0,1,2,3) compounds, studied using structural and magnetization measurements on polycrystalline samples. All the samples are ferrimagnetic in nature and the Curie temperature decreases with increase in Cu concentration. The easy magnetization direction at room temperature lies in the ab-plane, which suggests that there is no considerable increase in the axial anisotropy with Cu substitution.
