Sliding truss system

In one embodiment, a truss system is provided which is adapted to move a catwalk relative to a wearer. The system includes a body, an upper brake pad connected to the body adapted to contact one side of a flange of the carrier, and a lower brake pad connected to the body adapted to contact an opposite side of the flange, and one having at least one actuator connected to the brake pad, which is adapted to move the brake pads between a clamping position, which engages the flange, and an open position, in which one of the brake pads is spaced away from the flange.
