A Review on a Transport Social Experiment Introducing TDM Package Schemes for Town Center Area

This paper presents a review of the process and results of a transport social experiment introducing TDM package schemes for town center area in Toyonaka city. This experiment aims at finding the effects of TDM packages and getting public agreement of town center enhancement policy, which is proposed by residents group. In this experiment, a reduction of traffic volume, increase of bus users coming to the district, and increase of pedestrian volume were achieved. And over 70% of pedestrians evaluated the improvement of street environment for walkers.
