The Accurate Modeling the Output Characteristic of Multi-phase Half-wave Rectifiersh.

The determination of different characteristics, specially the output characteristic (V-I curve) is necessary in order to understand the function of power electronics converters and control system designing. In half-wave rectifiers, this characteristic is usually estimated by a straight line. In this paper, by obtaining switches order, possible cases and corresponding equations, it is shown that V-I characteristic is composed of several piece wises instead of a straight line. In the process of determining the multi-pulse half-wave rectifier characteristic, a new case in three-phase rectifier operational modes is mentioned to which no reference has paid attention up to now. The presented method to determine the output characteristic of rectifier is generalized for more number of phases. The conduction intervals and different operational modes are determined and its validation is evaluated by simulation. The analytical results from determining the output characteristic of rectifier are also compared with the simulating ones.
