Study of sentinel lymph node micrometastasis by combining detection SCCAg and CK19mRNA in early stage cervical cancer

2013
Objective To investigate the clinical value and correlation of combining SCCAg with CK19mRNA in sentinel lymph node micrometastasis of early stage cervical cancer. Methods Serum SCCAg was detected in patients with stage IA2-IB2 squamous cell cervical carcinoma, patients with CIN and healthy women, respectively. CK19mRNA was detected by FQ-PCR in sentinel lymph nodes of patients with cervical cancer, and relationship between the two biomarkers was studied, too. Results Serum SCCAg level of patients with cervical cancer was higher than that in control group; detection rate of sentinel lymph node micrometastasis by FQ-PCR( 32. 6%) was significantly higher than histopathology( 12. 8%); there was direct correlation between SCCAg and CK19.Conclusion FQ-PCR is better than histopathology in detection of CK19mRNA in sentinel lymph node micrometastasis of cervical cancer; combination of these two markers is likely to become a valuable method to predict sentinel lymph node micrometastasis of early stage cervical cancer.
