In the biological world, there are numerous biochemical reactions which require high energy phosphate compounds as their energy sources. ATP, for example, is the most common energy donor for this kind of reaction, but still expensive for the use in large scale operations of such reactions. Therefore, various enzymatic systems for industrial regeneration of ATP have been proposed.
