It is shown that the kinetics of tetracycline sorption by anion-exchanger resins of the AB-17-2 type strongly depends on the particles size. Experiments revealed the transition from intraparticle gel diffusion to mixed gel diffusion and to film diffusion during tetracycline sorption using AB-17 - 2 anion exchangers with an average particle size decreasing from 800 - 1200 μm to 0.1 - 1.0 μm. The diffusion coefficient is comparable for model and real solutions and exhibits variations from 10 - 10 to 10 - 7 cm2/sec. The experimental data show good prospects for the use of AB-17-2 anion exchanger in the stages of isolation and purification of tetracycline.
