Extraction 3-D de structures industrielles par radargrammétrie haute résolution
2002
This article deals with Digital Elevation Models (DEM) from airborne stereoscopic SAR images. On our images, roofs are not very textured, dense matching processes cannot manage to restore structure footprints. However, structures can be first extracted from strong echoes from di-hedral corners between ground and structures, by a criterion optimisation. These echoes provide structure planimetric locations and ground altitude. If the roof echo is not too weak, a method for structure height measurement is tested. Furthermore, ground altitudes between structures are obtained by a dense pyramidal matching process, performed on rectified images. This algorithm is applied on RAMSES images containing quite large simple-shaped industrial structures : buildings and tanks. Compared with a ground truth, the performance of the results is limited by 'no-shows', that is structures with no visible echoes. Quantitatively, the altimetric RMS errors on found structures are compatible with the theoretical stereoscopic potential of the data.
