The ESCA‐method as an additional tool for structure elucidation: Investigations of compounds derived from active methylene compounds and carbon disulfide

2010
The structures of various compounds derived from active methylene compounds and carbon disulfide have been determined by ESCA-measurements of the binding energy of the 2p1/2 and 2p3/2 electrons of the two sulfur atoms in the compounds. The choices between alternative structures agree with statements from other methods of molecular spectroscopy (IR, NMR).
