Reduced-order analysis of scramjet inlet operation
2016
A reduced-order model for performing fast parametric studies of a typical scramjet inlet operation is presented in this literature. The inlet operation at on-design and off-design conditions is analyzed using the physics of thermally perfect gas flows and boundary layer theory. The geometry considered for the analysis is a single ramp inlet with a cowl. The model is constructed on MATLAB platform with the flexibility to design a two-dimensional layout of a typical scramjet inlet geometry and to select the free stream conditions for the analysis. The reliability of the reduced-order model is established by validating with computational and experimental data reported in the existing literatures.
