Evidence of linear magnetoelectric effect in Mn4Nb2O9 single crystal

Abstract Magnetoelectric properties were carefully studied on Mn4Nb2O9 single crystal. With a clear anomaly on the temperature dependent dielectric constant at TN = 107 K, we measured the pyroelectric under different magnetic field. Magnetodielectric is proportional to H 2 , which is a typical sign of linear magnetoelectric effect. Polarization varies with the magnetic field in a positive correlation. All evidence shows Mn4Nb2O9 is a linear magnetoelectric material.
