열대 산악지역 적응 내냉성 자포니카 벼 품종 ‘Cordillera 4’

2021
‘Cordillera 4’ is a medium-maturing japonica rice variety adaptable to the tropical mountainous region. It was developed from a cross between ‘Jinmibyeo’ and ‘SR18977-2-7-2-TB-1’ by the Korea (RDA)-International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) cooperative breeding program at IRRI in 1997. The growth duration of ‘Cordillera 4’ was 145 days from sowing to harvest, which is similar to that of the check variety ‘PSB Rc 96’. The culm length of ‘Cordillera 4’ was 84 cm, and 1,000-grain weight of brown rice was 28.3 g. ‘Cordillera 4’ was moderately resistant to blast, bacterial blight, tungro virus, and brown planthopper. The milled rice recovery rate of ‘Cordillera 4’ was higher than that of ‘PSB Rc 96’. The head rice rate of ‘Cordillera 4’ was significantly higher than that of ‘PSB Rc 96’. The yield potential of ‘Cordillera 4’ was on an average 2.5MT/ha of milled rice in three areas of Philippines in the first trial and 3.6 MT/ha of milled rice in four areas in the second trial. ‘Cordillera 4’ was registered in Philippines and would be adaptable to diverse regions of tropical Asia (Registration No. in Philippines. BPI-NSIC- 2019-Rc 566).
