¿Manzanilla o té con azúcar? Nuevas pautas de ayuno preoperatorio en cistectomía

Faced with invasive bladder cancer, with curative intent, radical cystectomy is performed and practiced urinary diversion. Since May 2012, we apply the new guidelines preoperative fasting, giving chamomile tea sweetened 6h and 2h before surgery. OBJECTIVE: To unify criteria of performance and improve quality of care in response to changing patterns of preoperative fasting, through a plan of care. METHODS: Descriptive study of a patient attending cistectomizado new fasting guidelines. RESULTS: After apply patient assessment nursing diagnoses, determine performance criteria and perform nursing interventions. CONCLUSIONS: By applying a care plan and manage abundant sugary liquids in the pre and postoperative got an early recovery.
