Caracterización morfo-agronómica de frejol voluble (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) tipo canarios colectados en los cantones Chillanes, San Miguel y Guaranda.

2019
Beans are the most important grain legume in the world. It is a source of calories, protein, fibers, minerals, and vitamins for millions of people in developed and developing countries around the world. This investigation was carried out in the community of Guacalgoto, Canton Chillanes, Bolivar province at an altitude of 2410 meters above sea level. The sowing time was March 14, 2018. The treatments evaluated were nine accessions of volatile beans from collections made in the Cantons: Chillanes, San Miguel and Guaranda. The objectives of this research were: i) To determine the morpho-agronomic characteristics of nine accessions of Canarian voluble beans. ii) Select the best accessions for this agroecological zone and that the market demands. iii) Generate a database of morpho-agronomic characterization. Statistics were applied for morphological descriptors, analysis of variance, 5% Tukey test and correlation and regression analysis for agronomic components. Accessions T5 and T1 had the best yields in both soft and dry at 13% humidity and also have characteristics of cream and yellow grain, large size, oblong shape and shine. For young grain, accession T9: INIAP-426 Canario Siete Colinas (Witness) is a technological alternative due to its precocity. Finally, this research contributed to the selection of promising germplasm of Canarian voluble beans with quality attributes demanded by the different segments of the bean value chain.
