Modified Voltage-Sensor-Based MPPT Algorithm for Drift Avoidance in PV Systems

To solve the drift in traditional voltage-sensor-based MPPT algorithm in photovoltaic (PV) system, a modified voltage-sensor-based MPPT algorithm is presented in this paper. By adopting correct condition change identification, the modified algorithm removes the drift in steady-state. Then, the tracking speed and efficiency during transient are improved compared with the traditional algorithms. Followed by theoretical analysis, the simulation results validate the advantages of the proposed algorithm.
