A 24-membered macrocyclic triorganotin(IV) carboxylate: Synthesis, characterization, crystal structure, and antitumor activity

2020
Abstract A novel organotin carboxylate based on an amide carboxylic acid, (Ph3Sn)6(L)6 (complex 1) (L = 2-(1,3-dioxo-1H-benzo[de]isoquinolin-2(3H)-yl)acetic acid), was designed and synthesized. The complex was characterized using elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and 1H, 13C, and 119Sn NMR spectroscopy. X-ray crystallography diffraction analysis revealed that the complex is a hexanuclear triphenyltin carboxylate macrocycle. Each bridging ligand of the macrocycle coordinates with two Sn atoms. Intermolecular π···π interactions link the complex into a complicated supramolecular structure, which is discussed in detail. The fluorescence and antitumor activities of complex 1 were also studied.
