The invention discloses a gradient refractive index-wrapped quantum dot diaphragm and a preparation method thereof. Quantum dots in the gradient refractive index-wrapped quantum dot diaphragm are wrapped in a low refractive index colloid to form wrapped quantum dot particles; the wrapped quantum dot particles are highly dispersed in a high refractive index colloid to form a gradient refractive index-wrapped quantum dot diaphragm. In the invention, the quantum dots are mixed and wrapped with superpolymer having high compatibility with the quantum dots and low refractive index, are cured, and are further refined to obtain low refractive index superpolymer-wrapped quantum dot particles; the obtained wrapped particles are dispersed in the high refractive index colloid and are cured to form a gradient refractive index quantum dot structure diaphragm. In the invention, a total reflection effect generated when a refractive index difference between different colloids causes ray propagation is utilized, so as to reduce light ray incident to the quantum dots, weaken a saturation absorption degree of the quantum dots, effectively prolong life of the quantum dots, and have broad application prospects in LED encapsulation and many other fields.
