This is a global and diachronic view of the defensive system developed on the coast of Granada, as well as its evolution, after the delivery of Granada to the Catholic Monarchs, specifi cally in the region of Bajo Guadalfeo and the Llanos de Carchuna-Calahonda. An analysis that ranges from the XV century to the Contemporary period, in which the region loses the strategic role it had in previous periods. In addition, is claimed the historical-archaeological heritage that constitutes these coastal defensive elements, as well as the role of Archeology of Modern age
